The raw materials come from the plant kingdom

Pellets and our other products are wood fuels that we gather from the plant kingdom. We process and compress the waste products from the forestry and sawmill industries, such as shavings and different types of sawdust. Previously, these waste products were expensive to dispose of, but we soon realised that they could be used to produce heat and electricity.

Of course there is smoke when you burn pellets and perhaps you are thinking that the smoke contains carbon dioxide. Yes, that is true. But when pellets are burned only the carbon dioxide that made it possible for the tree to grow is released. And through responsible forestry the carbon dioxide is absorbed again. Pellets are therefore a 100% renewable source of energy that does not contribute to an increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide. A closed circuit quite simply. At present the Swedish forests also grow more than our suppliers fell. We only work with responsible suppliers who ensure sustainability and are certified.

Carbon dioxide and sulphur from fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas) are the major contributors to the greenhouse effect and the acidification that is threatening many sensitive environments.

We are ISO 9001 and 14001 certified

The manufacture of wood fuel in all of our factories is certified in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Scandbio works for sustainable development and to minimise our environmental impact. When manufacturing wood fuel the impact on the environment is small, but it can still be reduced. The big environmental benefits are seen when wood fuel is compared to other types of energy production.
